This commercial actually almost looks kind of creepy. It’s very reminiscent of “The Ring”, complete with demon-possessed girl in night gown and all! Do you know what’s even creepier, though? When I added this video, the YouTube view count was at “555″. 555!!!! that’s only 111 away from 666!!!! Yikes! So viewers be warned… check out this video… IF YOU DARE!
Ok. I’d like to say that the title of this post was misleading, but after watching this video I can tell you. It is 100% spot-on accurate. You do indeed fight a disco dancing Dracula wannabe who does a graveyard thriller impersonation complete with dancing zombies. Huh? Yes indeed! I swear I thought Michael Jackson was gonna make a cameo any second!
And then later in the game you are attacked by chickens jumping out of the oven in a feathered but pre-cooked state. Now understandably they are angry, but it makes for one of the oddest moments in my gaming memory.
I loved Splatterhouse for the TG-16. Recently I’ve discovered 2 and 3 for the Genesis and am looking forward to the upcoming next-gen title. The other day I happened across this for the NES/Famicom. While it’s not inline with the other titles, this is a must-see for any Splatterhouse fan, if for no other reason than to see the odd take on this classic franchise! But for heaven’s sake I beg you… Beware the chickens and the disco!
Ah… one of the great debates of my younger days. Which is better? Sega or Nintendo? There were convincing arguments that could be made for both sides back in the day. This video highlights the strengths and weaknesses of Nintendo and Sega, 2 of gaming’s biggest players, from this classic multi-generation console war.
This is actually more gameplay footage than a game review. It should give you a good idea of what the game is about though and whether or not it’s worth your time. I must admit, I never played this one for the Turbografx-16 and that looks to be a good thing. I got in on the Street Fighter series with Street Fighter 2. It definitely doesn’t look like I missed anything essential with this one, but for hardcore SF2 fans, check out this video and see how it all started!

I had a Colecovision when Atari was cool. When Nintendo came on the scene I got an Atari. Had I known about this Colecovision add-on I could’ve combined the two into this gimungoid monstrosity of retro gaming goodness. The only thing is… I don’t know where the hell I would’ve put this thing. I mean, look at the size of it. It obviously wouldn’t fit in the average stereo component rack. You’d have to move the kitchen table in the living area just to have a suitable place for it. None-the-less, the coolness can not be denied. Colecovision + Atari + Sega Genesis controller = retro goodness explosion! yee haw!
Check out this video where Game Reactor delves deep into the legendary Super Potato retro game store in Electric Town, Tokyo! Holy crap! I don’t know what’s cooler… a Retro game superstore called “Super Potato” or the fact that it’s located in “Electric Town”?!?!?! I’ve often dreamt of travelling to “funky town”, but now I believe… no. I am certain… “Electric Town” sits firmly atop my list of places to visit! Land ho!
Ah the peaceful, soothing sounds of an acoustic guitar accompanied by an ocarina…it’s like velvet for your eardrums! and quite catchy too i might add. I have a feeling I’ll be humming this little number to myself for the next day or so. Kudos I say! Check it out!
